About

I am a freelance editor living in Toronto, Canada. I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and have worked with American, Canadian, and British authors to get their manuscripts looking great.

Whether you are interested in shining up a manuscript before shopping it out to agents, or you hope to self-publish your manuscript and want to ensure that it’s professional and error-free for a reasonable price, I would be happy to discuss your project with you.

I’m a lifelong lover of books and reading. I studied linguistics and a literature-heavy program in humanistic studies at McGill University in Montreal, graduating in 2005. I spent several years working with small publishers before entering the freelance market in 2008. In 2011 I completed a graduate certificate in Book and Magazine Publishing at Centennial College in Toronto, focusing on the publishing industry’s standards for editing, marketing, design, and technology.

Apart from the world of literature, I do have an interest or two! I love sports, and watch a lot of hockey, tennis, golf, football, baseball, and track & field.  My own forays into athletics include yoga, ballet, hiking, and a little bit of tennis. I am also very fond of tea, art shows, well-designed cars, film, and taking marathon wanders around Toronto. I speak passable French and Spanish, make excellent risotto, and can, in a pinch, play the bass lines of a few Elvis songs.

On this website, you will find more information about my publishing background and the types of editing I do. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss what level of editing might be best for your manuscript, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
